Creating My Website with Wix!

This was my first experience creating a website - thankfully, Wix was here to help!

Having the templates all laid out for me was so helpful; all I had to do was select one and I was on my way. Each template comes with its own unique formatting, background colors, photos, font, settings – all of which you can modify to your liking. I found it super easy to add images, videos, links, and downloads.

In the past, I always assumed that building your own website would be a long, arduous task, which you should hire out as a commission to someone who is well versed in technology.

Now I know that my previous ideas of what it would be like to build a website, couldn’t be further from the truth!

Why did I create a website in the first place you might wonder? Well, it was actually one of our course assignments for the Office Administration – Executive program at Sault College. At first, I was pretty overwhelmed by this assignment – I really had no idea where to start. But as I started working on it, things slowly came together piece by piece. I’m really glad that we were assigned this project. It gave me the chance to try something new and get out of my comfort zone. There are some things I might change about my layout, backgrounds, color schemes, and section labels in the future. I plan to continue to work on my website even after I’ve submitted it.

I hope this blog helps encourage anyone who is 'on the fence' about creating their own website. I say, go for it - it's a lot of fun!
